The login information of 1 million Facebook users has been stolen. Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has warned that the login information of one million users has been stolen from a malicious app.
Meta’s research this year found more than 400 malicious Android and iOS apps designed to steal Facebook users’ login information.
Meta has warned that 1 million users have been infected by such apps. Meta’s research has shown that games, photo editors, health and lifestyle and service apps available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store have stolen information.
Malicious apps often ask users to login with Facebook. Then the app stole user’s username and password. Meta says that malicious apps have been removed from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
